Villarreal Serves as Adjudicator for George Shirley Vocal Competition

Paulina Villarreal served as an adjudicator for the Collegiate Division of the 2026 George Shirley Vocal Competition at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, adjudicating singers throughout the preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds.

Dedicated to African American vocal repertoire, the annual competition brings together emerging singers and composers from across the United States and internationally. The 2026 competition awarded more than $48,000 in scholarships across five divisions.
